A72 vs A53 processor core

Integrated vs Dedicated graphic card: What is the difference and which is better?

Short answer: discrete or dedicated graphic card is more powerful.

Integrated graphic is placed upon soc itself, with cpu, modem, radio antenna, wifi etc ( in mobile ) and in pc it is placed along with cpu, memory controller (Northbridge in case of intel).

Integrated graphic has lesser frequency than a discrete graphic card and thus require less power. it doesn’t have its own memory (some of them have for example ‘intel iris pro’ integrated graphics have their dedicated memory but it is way less than the discrete graphic card) rather it uses the system memory(RAM) and is less powerful than a discrete or dedicated graphic card. Today’s high-end graphic card incorporates GDDR5 memory.

However, today’s integrated graphic card have become more powerful, and can handle even a demanding game, Albeit at lower resolutions and settings. It can easily handle gui based os, software, movies, hd resolutions, video editing etc. and is more than enough for a average pc user.

Discrete graphic card

does not come integrated with CPU, it has to be purchased separately. It is way more powerful than integrated graphic card. it has its own memory (bigger and faster), more cores, more frequency. It requires more power and a good cooler to cool it down. Good graphic card are very expensive, for example geforce gtx 1080 costs around 550$. Best discrete graphic card can handle any game (When it's launched)  at it’s maximum setting. It is mainly required in hardcore gaming, 3D rendering,
